Admission Process

Admissions in KIET College of Media & Arts are awarded strictly on merit determined through an aptitude test and a panel interview. We look for passionate students eager to broaden their minds in the field of art and communication design.

Eligibility Criteria

For Bachelor degree programs, applicants must have a minimum of 50% marks in the Intermediate board certificate or equivalent A-Level courses or related diploma.

We also consider an applicant’s history of exceptional performance in sports, debates, event management, social work and other co-curricular activities.

Admission Kit

At the time of submission of admission form, a candidate is required to provide attested photocopies of his/her:

  • ID card or B-Form
  • Marksheets of matric and intermediateand bachelor degrees (for Masters candidates)
  • 2 passport sized color photographs
  • Photocopies of certificates of participations/ awards

These documents must be attached with the admission form duly and properly filled. Candidates may be asked to produce original documents on demand.

Aptitude Test

There is no negative marking and calculators/gadgets of any kind are not allowed. Aptitude test is of approximately 2 hours and is divided into four sections:

Section 01: English
  • Essay Writing
  • Grammar (20 questions)
  • Comprehension ((20 questions)
Section 02: Drawing
  • Composition Sketching
  • Replica Drawing
  • Visualization Drawing

Apart from theoretical questions, the students are also tested for their perceptive and observation skills with a still-life drawing assignment. The pattern of KIET College of Media & Art’s aptitude test is based upon the international tests of SAT. Students with good SAT scores can be exempted from taking the aptitude test if the administration deems fit.

Interview

Candidates who have cleared the aptitude test are called for panel interview for final selection. No more than 10 candidates are allowed in one panel for interview which lasts for approximately an hour. Group discussion enables the interviewers to evaluate the basic knowledge, communication skills, personality, general knowledge and confidence of a candidate.

Temporary Admission Status

Candidates who appeared in the Intermediate or Bachelor’s examination and are awaiting results, may be admitted provisionally by providing other required documents of the degree program. Such candidates must fill an undertaking on the admission form before their applications may be considered for the Aptitude test.

However, if a student fails to clear the examination or scores below the eligibility requirement of the degree program after the full result is revealed, the admission at KIET College of Media & Arts will be immediately cancelled. Another opportunity will be given to such students for re-applying, after the academic eligibility of the program is met.

Candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria and are dropped from the degree program by the Institute, maybe refunded of their tuition fee. However, candidates must provide the complete academic result (marksheet or the copy of the admit card and newspaper cutting) within four weeks after the announcement in the newspaper to the Admission Office. Failing to do so shall bear a penalty of 25% surcharge (non-refunded amount) on the tuition fee.

Deferment of Admission

Students who are granted admission at the Institute and want to postpone their admission for one semester are allowed to do so if they give an application in writing to the Admission Office. The tuition fee of such students can also be transferred into the next semester if the Admission Office gets the application within a week of the commecement of that semester. Fee shall not be transferred after one week. Students who join the Institute and then decide to leave the Institute are not eligible for any refund.

Remedial Programs

Students passing the overall aptitude test but deemed weak in English or Mathematics may be asked to undertake remedial classes in English or Mathematics. The objective of these programs is to ensure that the students with deficiencies are pulled up to meet the foundational requirements for professional degree programs and quality of education at KIET College of Media & Arts.
